Do you ever feel like you’re running out the door and barely get a chance to see yourself in the mirror? I do this almost every day on my way to class. Those extra 10-15 minutes of sleep sound better and better each week, can anyone relate? Well, if you can then you’re in luck. Even though your main goal is to make it to class (or work), you want to make sure you look presentable and like you didn’t just roll out of bed. Today I’m sharing my running out the door makeup routine when I have 2, 5, or even 10 minutes to spare (on a lucky day). All of the products mentioned are linked throughout my blog. You can also check out my Instagram stories later this week for tutorials on each of these looks!
2 MINUTE MAKEUP
If you have 2 minutes to spare and want to look fresh faced, then I have the solution for you. To begin, cleanse your face. This is so important because overnight you produce a lot of sebum and it’s important to wash that away. I do this whether I’m wearing makeup or not. If this is not a part of your morning routine, you should start incorporating it.
As far as makeup, when I have 2 minutes, I start with a tinted moisturizer to even out my base. I personally love the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It evens out my skin and I know Bare Minerals uses natural and healthy ingredients. This tinted moisturizer has light coverage and looks very natural on the skin. Next, I apply a stick blush. I love the Burt’s Bees Stick Blush because it adds a natural glow and again, I know quality ingredients are being applied to my skin. Lastly, I curl my eyelashes and add mascara. If you don’t have time for mascara, at least curl your eyelashes. An eyelash curler can instantly make you look more awake and ready to take on the day!
5 MINUTE MAKEUP
If you have a few extra minutes to spare, you can add a few more steps to your makeup routine. The first I would recommend is adding concealer. Concealer will instantly make you look more awake because it will erase those bags under your eyes (which all of us busy women tend to get). I’m currently using this Neutrogena concealer that brightens and conceals all in one step! After concealer, it is important to apply powder so you don’t crease under your eyes. I use a mineral powder and set my whole face.
After setting your face, you’ll want to add some color back into your skin. I would swap your stick blush for a powder blush after setting your face. I personally love to add bronzer for a subtle glow as well. Finally, I would finish with curling my eyelashes and adding mascara just like the 2 minute routine.
10 MINUTE MAKEUP
Finally, if you can wake up with 10 minutes to spare for your makeup then I have a few more steps for you. After adding your blush and bronzer (mentioned in the 5 minute routine) I would add eyeliner. The Maybelline Line Stiletto is hands down my favorite liquid eyeliner. It is so easy to apply and comes out very black. If you have a few extra minutes, I also recommend paying some attention to your brows. Your eyebrows can actually make you look much more put together than you realize. Eyebrow gel can set your brows in place while giving them a more defined look at the same time.
With the few minutes remaining, I recommend adding a lip color to tie the whole look together. This lip color from Revlon in the shade Bare Maximum looks good on everyone and I kid you not, it will stay on until you scrub it off.
If you have any more than 10 minutes to spare on a day-to-day basis you’re an idol to all of us. With that extra time you could add eye shadow, highlight, or whatever your heart desires. In college, I’ve mastered the “running out the door” makeup and I hope you have enjoyed my tips!
