The Lady Boss Blogger Taught Me How Much I Really Didn’t Know About Blogging

What happens behind the scenes for my blog is often just that, behind the scenes activity that does not get shared. To be honest, I’m still navigating the blogging waters and do not typically share those things because I’m still learning. Today you’ll get a glimpse of what I do behind the scenes and a way for you to improve or start your own blog with the LadyBossBlogger course created by influencer, Elaine Rau!

I started my blog a bit over a year ago with no real direction or guidance on what I was doing. Thankfully, my brother works on websites at work and was able to help me get started. The good news is that I had him for all the technical details, the bad news is I still did not quite understand how to grow my blog. The LadyBossBlogger: “How to make money as a Blogger” course combines both of those needs into one package.

COURSE BREAKDOWN

The course is made up of 16 sections. Which I’ve bucketed into 3 categories below:

Defining your blog: The first part of the course walks you through discovering your “why”, finding a niche, and claiming your domain.
Building a strategy: The next section takes you through each aspect of your blogging strategy. You learn how to create your audience, design your brand, and how to market your blog.
Growth and optimization: Last, but not least, the course teaches you the best way to optimize your blog, land brand deals, and even the legal business aspects of blogging.

The LadyBossBlogger course covers everything you could imagine. It walked through topics I’ve already completed, topics I’m working on, and topics I can’t even envision just yet. It is truly the whole package when it comes to growing your blog.

WHAT I LEARNED & WHY I TOOK IT

The biggest thing I learned was how much I don’t know about blogging. I reviewed the course and took notes but plan to review again and maybe even a third time. The course is loaded with valuable content and will continue to be a resource for me in the future. For now, I plan to focus on the following:

Improving my Pinterest strategy
Revisiting my blog foundation
Building my mailing list

I learned I have been creating pins on Pinterest WRONG! Yet, I invest SO much time into Instagram. That is only one small portion of my whole blog. There are so many other ways I need to share that time to truly grow my blog. Which brings me to my why. I have known that I focus too much on Instagram, but that’s mainly because I’ve gotten comfortable on that platform. Watching stories I posted one year ago or my first IGTV sometimes makes me laugh at how timid I was. I recognize I’ve come a long way and still have a long way to go.

I knew the “How to make money as a Blogger” course would teach me more about other platforms for my blog. Investing in those other platforms will help grow my comfort level the same way I’ve grown on Instagram. I wanted to invest in the course to kickstart my education. The course is not a “get rich quick” secret. There is no secret to growing your own brand and business quickly.
